group final

This project was an interesting one to do. It wasn't that tough for me to come up with ideas for our comercial or the interview and my group ended up liking some of the ideas I had. This project was easier this time because out schedules corresponded much better for all four of us than it had with my last partner alone. We got together a few different times to do shooting and editing. I'm glad the project is done, not that the class is over, but that I just don't have to worry about it anymore. The video turned out pretty well, and I think our comercial could have been better or had more humor in it, but 30 seconds is really short!

When writing a blog about a movie isn't enough

http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/09/the-dark-knight-fan-commentary-bd-live-feature-shown-on-video/

it doesn't matter that you're the only one reading my blog... or the only one I'm sure is reading my blog. I still write... almost every night... so why wouldn't I want to get a blu-ray video and put my own commentary to the whole thing? Oh yeah, because this is for a class and the other is to irritate people that have sense enough to know that this idea is terrible!

It's not fair!

http://www.usatoday.com/tech/science/2008-12-08-dogs-fairness_N.htm

It's true... I don't know any person, not just parent, in America that hasn't heard this... children never understand that the world isn't fair... But teaching your dog his tricks by making him jealous? Now that's genious! I guess some people consider their dog as a child. It works in some respects. I think I'm still considered a child by those standards... shit.

Final Project

I decided to bitch about my job... again... because I worked all weekend... yeah, all weekend, like 20 hours over the course of 2 days... and I am so tired of hearing, "then why are you even answering the phone if you can't help me?!" Because, if your card is lost or has been stolen, wouldn't you want someone here to cancel the card before someone else finds it or uses it? Yeah, that's what I thought too, people are assholes sometimes and a lot of days I'm so tired of my job I can't do anything else but cry... or have a cow about how stupid and rude people are in this country... But, to end on a up note... I only have to work 6 days over the next 3 weeks.

Must be rough

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zz-unWHmaSE

She's, what? 15, maybe 16 and she gets to be surrounded by, not only men that are gorgeous, but dance amazing too! I don't really like Miley... but those dance moves at the end are sweet!

It's that time again...

http://danielrowe.files.wordpress.com/2007/12/finals.jpg

Finals... Fuck I Never Actually Learned this Shit. I haven't ever actually felt that way... but I feel how this guy looks... this semester it just seems like everything keeps piling up and pushing me closer to insanity than ever before. I'm working all weekend this weekend again, and 3 of my 6 finals are already due this coming week... not even finals week... which stresses me out and puts a little unneeded pressure... at least that's how I feel about it right now... so between projects at work I'm trying to study for tests and plan for how to finish projects, writing papers and scheduling times I can find sleep... and my planning skills aren't really that good... yeah... this is going to be hell for the next 2 weeks. Look forward to updates on my mood and breakdowns, because there are bound to be many of each.

End of Ze World

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZMwKPmsbWE

Oh please, please, PLEASE let California break off from the US... that would be so sweet! They can go sit out in the middle of nowhere and tell themselves how great they are... haha. So stupid, completely unrealistic, but I loved it! This is nothing like Monty Python... although its said to be comparable... but Monty Python isn't funny, it's stupid, and I really liked this... not comparable... and Australia is still saying WTF mate... yeah, they'll never understand this kind of humor... and I think we should take the nucs away from all other coutries in the world... we may be stupid... but everyone else is stupid AND dangerous... yeah, I'm kidding, that would never work... but you know stuff is bad when the meteor won't even come near us... damn, we're screwed!

Truly an Idiot

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFVaSHw4F4c&feature=rec-HM-r2

Wow, that's all I can say. If it wasn't 'in' it was up. And did she ask for an 'F'? because that's obviously what she got in spelling in school. Education people. It truly IS important. My God I am shocked.

Lame!

http://tech.msn.com/products/slideshow.aspx?cp-documentid=13523062&imageindex=1

What is it about negativity toward other people's work that makes us feel better about ourselves? When I went through this, I was just happy my name wasn't included on the list. Don't get me wrong, my blog probably sucks to most people, but I think I'm funny, and I don't think that my blog sucks that bad. I was just more than happy to know they didn't find it... but I have a couple blogs I would like to nominate for this 'award' hahaha.

Oh Please Please PLEASE let this happen!

http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/05/verizon-alltel-merger-would-form-largest-carrier-in-the-us-by-f/

I use Verizon, it's on my dad's plan, and I have a limit of 500 texts a month. All my friends use Alltel, they have unlimited texting... and when my bill is $27 over due to an extra 270 texts last month, daddy wasn't happy. So if this merger happens at the first of the year it will be a late Christmas present Verizon didn't know they were giving me! So if this happens... my texts will jump from 500 text a month to closer to 1300 where it should be. Just kidding, but not really

This is unbelievable

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4QcyEjMydk&NR=1

She thinks she's such a Christian and can say what God's word is. But I'm just sad that it's illegal to kill stupid people today. She is part of a family run cult. I truly believe them when they said she was an abomination... This is sick and wrong. How do people get so messed up like this? I can't imagine the hurt that family is feeling to lose a family member in a war, but then to see, "Thank God for Dead Soldiers" outside the church where the funeral service is taking place? That would be too much. I'm glad the legislation passed, I only wish they would have pushed it further away. And who knows, maybe one day their judgement will come in the form of a 9/11 incident, what goes around, comes around.

Shitty Decorations!

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/bizarre/6136735.html

I can't believe they think they will make money on this! Who seriously wants to buy animal shit? I wouldn't be jumping up and down buying them for all my friends! eventually that shit is going to start falling apart and then you just have a shitty mess on your hands... literally... but I guess if they want to try it to help raise some funds for the zoo, to each his own. But the economy is too shitty right now to pay for riendeer shit.

My new best friend!

http://www.picnik.com/

So I found this site through a friend and I've been playing with it most of the weekend. It makes messing with or adding to pictures a breeze! I'd show you some of what I've done, but it doesn't work to send the link, and you're not my friend on facebook... sorry. I've made black and white pictures with bright red or blue accents, I've added weird text, I've put in graphics and pixelated a few pictures... This is a fun site to work with... and as long as it stays free I'm happy with it!

These companies should pay us for such bad products!

http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/27/crapgadget-thanks-for-nothing-edition/

These 'ideas' and 'gadgets' are ridiculous and worthless. Technology at it's finest? I think not! Why is anyone dedicating technological resources to this? Go study cancer or something! I realize that's medical, but it ties into technology, or at least they should try to make it... it would be a better use of their time if they did! I'm appalled!

I need this

http://www.petergillham.com/product-line/peter-gillhams-natural-calm.php

I have 9 of the symptoms listed... I think this might help, and at this point, it can't hurt. I'm looking forward to feeling better, and I hope to God it works... this last 3 weeks of getting very little sleep has nearly killed me, I'm irritable and I just want to sleep all the time. It's amazing how we're supposed to balance all kinds of things, but our diets don't compliment those things. I hope I can get this stuff fast, and that it will work!

Cribs

So, I hit a few snags with this video. What with my partner not working with both our schedules and then informing me on Sunday night, 2 nights after it was due, that he wasn't going to let me use 'his work' because he didn't give me a chance to help. Oh well. I got to do my own, and I learned more about editing and myself in this process than I would have otherwise. So it came out alright. I actually really enjoyed shooting this. I liked being on camera, and putting together something that was mildly entertaining... I also learned that I don't like the way I stand or carry myself a lot of the time, and decided it's something I'll work on. I'm happy to have had the extension time to put together my own video, and thankful I have such a great friend that was willing to help me clean my place up for short notice (aka: 5 minutes) shooting. I pretty much took most of the video before I even knew if I could have the extension on the project, all I could do was be prepared and wait for the answer. Drew was really great about helping me shoot this, being flexible with his time and days to get all the shots I wanted at the times I wanted. When I shot the original video on Sunday night I hadn't decorated for Christmas, and when I did my reshoots on Tuesday night I had... so that was an obstacle, but I overcame it pretty well I think. This video process was a lot of fun, with it's speed ups and slow downs... I enjoyed going through my material and really thinking about the show to get a general feel. The music was an obstacle as well. I felt as though I couldn't find music I liked for each of the scenes, I spent hours looking, but still never found exactly what I was looking for. What I have in the video works pretty well, but it's not what I wanted. Oh well. I'm really looking forward to the ad we're doing next. My group members seem to be excited too. It's nice to finally be with a group that appreciates funny ideas and is openminded and inventive enough to roll with a crazy idea instead of making it dull or just plain sarcasm that no one else understands. This should be awesome!

Economie's tanking... where do you turn?

http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2008-11-24-daily-joy-websites_N.htm

Now, I know these sites don't actually help anyone's situation. But if they make you smile for 5 minutes a day... that's 5 minutes you wouldn't have felt good or smiled right? It's generally a good idea, but I hate cats! I know that you do... or might... or have wierd feelings that flux... but anyway... I like the idea... and I really love puppies!

Would men really like to get this stuff?

http://www.christmascarnivals.com/christmas-gift-ideas/christmas-gift-ideas-for-men.html

So, I have 3 little brothers ranging in ages from 11 to 19 and a father, obviously, and I have no idea where to begin looking for christmas gifts. They aren't helping a lot either. The boys all asked for gift cards, and my dad gave the usual, save your money response. This site was no help beyond the basket full of sweets idea, dad would love that! So I guess they are getting gift cards, so impersonnal but the boys are no help! I was excited when I stumbled upon this site, and I was sorely disappointed!

Betcha you can't figure out what I'll write in this one!

http://www.lyricstime.com/nips-the-so-pissed-off-lyrics.html

This says it all. I'm pissed off, people are stupid and immature. This isn't high school. If you can't budget your time better to work with the people you choose to work with so it works okay for both of you... man you've got a long life coming. Telling someone that you want to get a job done and do it together and then not utilizing the time available to both partners is pretty pathetic. You had the resources, you took the video, you didn't give me an option to help. I did what I could with the time you allotted me, and it's not my fault that you are too stupid to figure out that when I say I have one week open and one week handed over the the devil (aka: my boss) I mean serious business. So keep your piss poor video, if you want to act like you're in the 5th grade and cry that i didn't help as much with this video as you think I should, all I have to say is, you didn't stand watching cats, that you're allergic too, for two hours to do the last video. I took one for the team, I guess you're not a team player.

Give it up!

http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/20/lawsuits-over-employees-unpaid-computer-boot-times-stacking-up/

Part of everyone's day is setting up the computer, getting logged in, etc. Why do people suddenly think they should be paid for that time? Looking at paperwork before your shift is due to start? Bullshit! The company is right when they say those people are probably getting coffee or talking to co-workers, that's what I do when I get to work, no one uses paper planners or calanders anymore in a corporate office, and if they do, they are a minority and still shouldn't get paid for that time because it's probably personal shceduling. This is a waste of time and a waste of our legal system. Pathetic.

Looks like I found out why I really like this blog!

http://www.ksfy.com/blogs/allen/34686864.html?blog=y

Mr. Allen and I seem to have more in common than I knew. I'm definitely Type 'A' personality! And I happen to feel exactly how Brain does. I want to take a vacation. From school, from work, from everyone I know, from snow, from cold, from feeling sick, from headaches... basically from my life. Doesn't matter where I go, I just feel like I need to get away!

Oh wow

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFQyib5ZQZY&feature=related

Once again, I ask my favorite line, who comes up with this stuff?! Great Christmas song made stupid! And yet, I still love this more than anyone can possibly know. Maybe it's because I worked in fast food, or maybe it's because stupid humor always tickles me, but one this is for sure, I laughed just as much as the stupid guy next to me that showed me the clip. Absolutely ridiculous, but a must see all the same.

Economy Cutbacks

http://www.keloland.com/NewsDetail6162.cfm?Id=0,76589

This is something on everyone's minds. Right now I'm glad I'm not working for Citi and that Capital is downsizing in unneeded departments, however, they are absorbing those people into other departments that are necessary. I'm glad that Capital has been planning for these kinds of problems for years now and has continually picked up business partners that can continue to pay my paycheck. In the meantime, I hope something changes soon so more jobs are not threatened.

Sad faces

http://msp261.photobucket.com/albums/ii53/miNa--xiOng__/crying1.gif

I'm hours away from turning 21 and I've been crabby for days. While most people look forward to hitting the bar scene and finally being able to attend the local watering hole with friends that are older than they, I find myself already bored with the prospect of being hit on by creepy men and spending way too much money in a place that's too smokey to be healthy. I'm not sure why I've been so down lately, trying desperately to make myself happier in some way, but it seems to be getting worse. I can't find any way to keep myself happy for more than a few hours at a time and I am beginning to wonder if it's more than homesickness and stress. I think I'm restless and bored with most everything. If I need a change in scenery it won't be happening any time soon. I do know one thing, something needs to change, and soon, or I might go certifiably insane!

For random and cheap entertainment... click here

http://www.jackassjokes.com/jokesoftheweek.htm

Lately I've been really homesick. I've gone home for a few hours at a time every other week or so, since school started, but not stayed. I've found I'm more stressed than I realized, to the point where I break out in hives. The only remedy I have right now, since I'm so busy is to read jokes and try to keep my spirits up, which proves to be a challenge some days. searching jokes on google usually does a pretty good job. I really liked the proof of human stupidity... instructions and labels... some people just don't think... and then the difference between potentially and realistically joke was great as well. Smiles all around!

Serious Problem

http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/surveillance/2008-11-11-thieves-cyber-corporate-data_N.htm

This is a serious problem these days, it's one of the fastest growing crimes aiding the biggest crime in America. Identity theft is the biggest crime in America right now. People are finding more and more ways to break into businesses and take information from customers.

This is a chart of the biggest information breaches since 2000 and the amount of money it cost from each break in.

Black Friday

http://www.usatoday.com/tech/columnist/kimkomando/2008-11-06-digital-deals_N.htm

I HATE black Friday, it is, without a doubt, the WORST day of the year! Any psycho that decides to go out just because something is $20 cheaper is crazy! I went out once. My dad saw a $600 camera on sale for $200, now that's a deal, it came with a large memory card, a spare memory card and a carrying case too, at no extra charge. But what I witnessed on that hellish days of all days was enough to keep me home that day for the rest of my life! Many people in my family put their lives on the line every year to get the discounts promised at every store, but never again will I! I saw women pulling each others' hair, I saw men pulling at the last DVD player on the shelf, I dodged elbows and fingernails just to get that camera at four in the morning, I got it, but just barely. Crazy people anyway! If you can help it, STAY HOME ON BLACK FRIDAY! Unless you're an absolute shopping fanatic and think that kind of thing is fun for a 'high'!

Making legends of scum?

http://tech.msn.com/products/articlepcw.aspx?cp-documentid=11573664

By putting these men in this kind of article making them "Kings" in the online world, we have created a monster. This is wrong... this is bad, this encourages them! So why do we do it? Is it news? No. So, what's the point? Who knows. It ridiculous, but interesting at the same time

This could possibly be a joke... I hope it is!

http://www.fun-on.com/weird160507a-Fattest_Kid_in_the_World.php

If any mother actually lets their child do this, and lets a child come to such a weight, that mother should be arrested for neglect and the child should immediately be taken to a hospital and put in the direct care of specialist. That said, the article was extreme, making me question its authenticity, especially with the site I found it on. I was horrified and appalled, but if it is a joke, it's kind of funny and a good way to make sure parents send their kids outside for a little running around a little more often!

I work for this company... hahahaha :)

http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/174/RipOff0174822.htm

What's sad is that I have to put up with this every day. People like this call me and yell about the fees and before I can even ask them if they would like to close the account they hang up and never call again hoping that things will fix themselves. Also, if she would have taken the time to ask, she would have found out that by faxing her husband's orders to us we would have lowered the APR to 6% from its 18.9% and freeze all purchases before the activation of orders. But they would rather yell. And I'm not stereotyping all of our half a million accounts into this. But there is a reason this woman is getting this offer, she is ill-educated, as can be seen from their typing form and lack of grammar skills. So, do I feel bad that she is still getting bills with late fees from us? Not really, especially since she's probably closing in on that 120 days delinquency when we'll just charge the account off anyway. If she took the time to be even halfway polite to a representative on the phone, her account would be closed, all fees waived and she wouldn't have terrible reports on her credit that I will no doubt have to go through, verify and send back to the credit bureaus as true that she owes the money and that the account was charged off. ugh! my life.

Communist symbol seen on campus!

http://www.ultimateflags.com/novelty/ussr.html
An Obama SUPPORTER wrote out Obama Biden 2008 with the communist symbol of the hammer, sickle and star next to it. Now, I'm wondering if it was a joke or if they really support Obama and just are too stupid to figure out what that symbol means. I wasn't aware that was where the people of this country wanted our society to head, but I'm against it, and as long as I have the ability to vote I will continue to try to move away from the things that Reagan worked so hard to remove from our society and possible the world at large. If they truly support this man, I hope the rumors are false, that he does not support the movement toward socialism... and that he isn't linked to terrorists.

Facebook, MySpace and Bebo

http://blogs.usatoday.com/technologylive/2008/11/number-of-faceb.html

Everyone uses one or more of these connectors on the Internet. Each gives a different way to keep up with or support the election today in a new way. I think it was a great way for people to have the election at the forefront fo their minds and it really encouraged them all the way leading up to the election to get registered or to fill out an absentee ballot. That's all I have to say on this subject, but I'll start another blog tonight for what I have to say about the ignorance of the people on SDSU campus for this election.

Election humor

http://www.peteyandpetunia.com/VoteHere/VoteHere.htm
Anyone can appreciate this, no matter who you're voting for it will make you laugh. It's like SNL coverage of the election, but I think it's better! It makes fun of both sides and I think anyone can appreciate it. I'm sure you'll get a kick out of this!

Fair electoral college?

http://blog.wired.com/27bstroke6/2008/10/bogus-robocall.html

Why do people feel the need to do this? Obviously there are guilty parties on both sides, but this should be a fair election. This kind of shinanigans is ridiculous and pathetic. Who does this help? The answer is, no one. This is dishonest and desparate. People need to have more faith in their candidate and enough brains to realize that no matter who is elected we will still be fine for the next four years. If the candidate that is elected doesn't do a good job, hopefully they don't get re-elected then. The desparate attempts on both sides make me disgusted and embarrassed to call myself a voter this election, no matter who I decide to support.

Ethanol

http://www.keloland.com/NewsDetail6162.cfm?Id=0,75747

Declaring bankrupcy, how does that help this up and coming company? Sure, times are hard right now, but things will bounce back and there will still be a demand for ethonal, even if the economy demands a decrease in their prices now to be comparable with gas, they were making bigger than they probably should have been when gas prices soared closer to $4 a gallon! If they clear out now, someone else will come in and take it up when the economy comes back a bit, it's a profitable market, and I really believe they can just ride this out, cut back a bit and continue what they started.

Another blogspot

http://home-is-where-the-heart-is.blogspot.com/

So, my lit teacher asked us this morning where home is to each of us, and as I thought about it I decided that the old line, "Home is where the heart is" is sappy and cliched, completely overused. So I preceded to make fun of the line in my paragraph, and of course the first person to read their idea of home outloud used the line, then of course, the professor called me next, naturally I couldn't read mine outloud, it would have hurt the other girl's feelings, so I refused. However, the question got me thinking, how do other people define home? And how far do people go to make their home important? Well I found it very quickly, and how perfect that it happened to be the second link when searching the phrase on google! My question to this site is, does this woman really think that people care about how she decorates? Because, I'm sorry, but she doesn't have that great of taste! I understand black accents for a nice pop and a good way to bring something out, but everything around the black is bland so it isn't popping anything! Why does she think other people really care about that either? There is, however, a site completely dedicated to how people decorate, tips for decorating, and it even lets you put pictures up for people to rate. It happens to be HGTV.com, why create a blog when you can just post your bland rooms there for rating? I just don't understand where some people get off...

Truth

http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/28/lg-life-isnt-that-good-right-now/

Taking the "Good Life" away from the campaigne for LG probably isn't going to make that big of a difference. I understand things are tight right now and nobody has money, but honestly, if they are so tight things are really terrible, people will make the decision to shut down cell service if they can bare to not have the little thing attached to their hand every minute of the day. If they choose to keep the cell and cut back on other things... like food, just kidding... so be it, but the good life slogan should stay, it seems pathetic to change it just because it might hurt a couple people's feelings.

Dance Dance Revolution... or Evolution!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMH0bHeiRNg

This is so great! I'm not sure who came up with his moves, but I'm just impressed with a guy of that age making a fool of himself and having that much flexibility! It was a pretty good spread of music and crazy dance moves! I don't have much to say for it, because I think it speaks for itself!

Day in the Life Video

So, my friend Brittany had a formal party. I took my camera to remember all the merriment better and decided it was a great way to show how awesome my friends are! I had to do a little editing and cutting out of things here and there, they were inappropriate. You probably still shouldn't show this to anyone under the age of 18, but it turned out all right, it was a really fun night! Everyone got dressed up and decked out to make my movie a hit! Brittany was a great help in creating an interview during my pong game and the fabulous video ends with her brilliant face! This is one video you won't want to miss! Also, special thanks to Jamie for SCREAMING at me in most clips so I couldn't use them!

Haven't been here for a while

http://www.ksfy.com/blogs/allen/32139299.html?blog=y

So, I haven't written on Allen's blog for a while, nothing much of personal interest, but this caught my attention. Not because he's had water damage or because of the hearing loss, (although that did bring to mind the sound lecture from 2 weeks ago and the midterm last week)it was the sound. I can't sleep anymore without a fan running because there are so many other sounds in an apartment building from other people or just settling of things in their places. I'm paranoid the way it is right now due to all the vandalisms in town, and I'm a very light sleeper! I love to run a fan and if you add a humidifier into the mix, even better! But I've never really had a problem with hearing someone... until you add the AC into the mix, those old things are noisy! Their sound helps me sleep sounder too though, so I'm not complaining!

I hope this is a joke!

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCJHP2hc8ehMkMW4lxlVFI1wUwE67FJopJl0Z8MtJRiU2bzXY7S41gP3jMbJWb8U58NSAmNtTDva3Z4k3jA3CGs1Wdv-zNxLjNcNj-Pq9d3wka1lHXxr66BHKMFTK-jNcE6P7z1I3zdrE/s1600-h/Copy+of+jsbi+Image+1.jpg

Really?! REALLY?! I don't even know where to begin with this. I think it speaks for itself. Good thing it's fake. But, really, who comes up with ideas like this. I'm glad Martha Stewart thinks it would be great for prison food! Oh the things people waste their time on to fool other people into believing! Good joke guys!

Really?! Are you kidding me!?

http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/24/ibone-chew-toy-gives-sneak-peek-at-dog-centric-app-store/

Dogs do not need crap like this, people do not need to spend money on crap like this! Is it supposed to be cute? Is it supposed to be smart? NO! Is it marketed to stupid people that like crap like this and decide that their dogs are worth anything and everything they can offer them? YES! Don't get me wrong, I love my dogs, but they sleep outside, they eat regular dog food that is good for them, but it doesn't look like a 4 course meal from a can! Why do you put a sweater or pants on something that already has a coat to keep it warm? Is it worth that money? Aren't we in the worst depression in years or something right now? I mean, if we're supposedly going to tighten our money spending and possibly be losing our jobs, is that $12 worth it so your pooch is tech savvy? Probably not. Will people buy it anyway? Yep! What are we coming to? Whatever it is, it is not good, so please don't let me know anytime soon. I'm sure I'll find out on my own sooner than later and it will be a sad, sad day!

It's Fosters!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABLmOmUac4U&feature=related

Here's the story on this one, I don't have a kid, but I have a brother that is 10 years younger than me. This happens to be his favorite show, this happens to be a cartoon I've watched a lot while I was watching him. I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! It's so cute, and well put together, it's entertainment for children, but it has enough of an edge that adults can find humor in it too. Know what the best thing is? It's clean! Yep, none of the swearing and dirty jokes you get when you watch 'adult tv' or if you go to a movie over the rating of PG. Just clean, family fun. It's like Disney movies, the way they play in humor for adults so the movie doesn't completely suck... except for that new Beverly Hills Chihuahua movie, I heard that really, really sucked, for everyone over the age of 6. What I'm getting at is how did we become a nation where the F-word is acceptable almost everywhere, it's like the word the! Sex has to be in it to sell it, and drugs are popularized? I'll stick to Fosters... gotta love Blu!

Yahoo... not appropriate for this...

http://www.usatoday.com/tech/techinvestor/earnings/2008-10-21-yahoo_N.htm

When the economy falls, money is short, people are pulling their stocks and not willing to spend money, top companies have only one option to try to encourage stock holders to continue to hold those stocks; lay offs. The people at the top of this multi-million dollar company don't care about employees far below them they don't even know the names of, they only care about their money, income, and state of living. So why do lay offs happen? If money has to be stretched they get rid of people so they don't have to stretch as far. So, that being said, I have a question; what do you think will happen if we raise taxes dramatically on these companies to help 'distribute the wealth'? I can assure you that it won't just distribute the wealth, it will also increase unemployment... and it will be much higher than just 1,500 people.

Underwear Goes Inside the Pants

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJeNok-lTEw&feature=related

This song brings up some very interesting problems in today's society, even though the song came out four years ago. They talk about drugs, prescription and illegal, and how they are marketed to us and how we seem to feel about them. Why are we focusing so many medical resources on things like Viagra, Envitra, In Vitro, all these things that aren't natural, they aren't how the world was meant to work. Couldn't we take the money spent to develop those drugs, ideas and television ads and transfer it to any kind of cancer research?! Next they talk about obesity, how we think we're in an epidemic, it's not an epidemic, it's the fact that we have a fast food establishment on every street corner of America, and we only eat that tasteless crap because it's there. We don't walk to the counter because there are drive throughs, hell, we don't walk period! Lately people have been asking me how I keep the weight off, or how I look so good, or if I'm losing weight. No, I'm not losing weight, I'm not even working out like I used to. I walk, a lot, I live 3 blocks from campus, and while most people drive to campus or ride some little scooter, I walk that, every day, except weekends, but on the weekends I still walk quite a bit, a little slower, usually in the gardens (which will make it interesting for how I'll continue that since we're supposed to get snow tomorrow, and I hate snow) but I still walk. It's that 45 minutes to an hour of light cardio that doctors always talk about, although I usually run a little late and have to power walk my 15 minute walk to class. But that's what people need, I eat healthy and I get light cardio at least 5 days a week. It's important! I'm not even going to get into the 'Masterminds' over in the Middle East, we have enough problems here at home. Homelessness, unemployment, rising prices... ring a bell? We are going through a serious economic flux right now, no doubt it's creating a little tightening for buisness and consumers alike. However, as everyone is pointing fingers at President Bush and our government, they are also pulling their stocks so they don't lose more money, and cutting back on most buying, but a lot of those things can add to the problems we've begun to see, instead of riding out the dip until after elections, when it's predicted to pick back up a bit. So, for now, we're all in a fairly similar boat, what is the point of telling someone else they have problems when they ask for money, you have problems too. They can't save up their money, it's all they have at the moment, and you don't know what they're spending it on, what are you spending it on? No one's business, now is not a time to judge everyone else's position and telling them to get a job isn't helping, the promised tax cuts for the poor and increase for the big businesses isn't going to help America, we'll see unemployment shoot up and wages will be stretched. Those businesses won't pay those taxes out of pocket, they'll take their business overseas and fire people to make sure they can pay taxes without it hurting their business. So watch it, you might be the next 'bum' that needs to go find a job.

Yeah! Working from home!

http://www.wired.com/culture/culturereviews/magazine/16-10/st_essay

This article brings up some great points as to why people should have the option of working from home if the position can allow it. If you work for a call center, it won't work, if you work for an ad agency, you can have a green light! I like that they did their research and found how much money and space most companies waste to have cubes for their employees and how much comuters would save if they didn't drive to work everyday. Gas is getting higher, and it isn't showing any signs of stopping, so why not give it a break, cut back on gas, if we cut back enough it may hurt those huge gas companies and they may have to cut some prices as well. Also, the way the economy is turning, we sure could use money breaks anywhere we can find them, and increasing productivity won't hurt anyone, unless you've already overproduced something, but you're in trouble anyway, and probably have to lay people off. What I'm saying is, this is more about power from people who oversee employees than it is about business anymore, so get off your power horse and do your company a favor!

How cool is this?!

http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/16/help-engadget-energize-education-in-the-2008-donorschoose-blogge/

Raising funds through your technology aware website is sexy! Turning it into a competition is also sexy... everybody wins! Competition usually brings in a few extra bucks, everyone knows that! and for them to advertise this kind of need on their website is a great way to find people to help! I'm very impressed... sadly people aren't donating due to hard times... which I happen to have a lot of opinions about, but we'll see if I can't fit a blog in about that later, closer to election time. I think technology is a great way to reach a lot of children that don't have the option or seem to have problems with learning, technology can really help them. Family friends had a little boy who recently turned 11 who is disabled. He was born with a brain tumore that pressed on his optical nerve and he can't see clearly. He can see colors and outlines of things, but he's lived this way his whole life. He moves a little slower and identifies people by voice and the color of shirt they are wearing that day. He does a lot with touch as well, he doesn't always touch appropiately, but he doesn't know any better either. He uses a special computer that blows all of his homework up into very large text and pictures so he can keep up in his classes almost as well as his peers. It also uses a lot of feeling elements through his keyboard and sounds to help him learn quicker. It truly is amazing what technology can do for people, and trying to spread it this way with some friendly competition rates high on my list!

How do pedestrians feel about bikes on campus?

This is a video I put together about bikes on campus. I took video with a hand held camera, I had an interview with a pedestrian that walks on campus daily, and I found that it wasn't just me that had a problem with bikes on campus. Turns out, quite a few others don't appreciate bikes running them off the sidewalks.

Disabled cell phones?

http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/14/aegis-mobilitys-driveassist-cripples-your-phone-when-you-drive/

They make a good point in the article; how do they know that you're driving and not on a bus or cab? But then again, would it really matter if your calls and messages were held an extra 20 to 30 minutes while you get from point A to point B? Unless someone was in the hospital and you need to get there very quickly or something along those lines, it really wouldn't change your life that much. I think they have the right idea and good intentions, but as the comments suggest, people can find plenty of ways to be distracted while driving and get into accidents. But one less thing to distract us can't be a bad thing right?

It's FRED!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_oCyzja0sg

Another annoying video that people love to watch! Usually something like this would annoy me to know end because of the voice this teenager uses, and he acts like he's 6 or 7... It is absolutely crazy and completely random. This is the best one of all of the videos he has posted online. I laughed for 25 minutes after watching this for the first time. I still laugh when I watch it. It's right up there with Charlie the Unicorn... Youtube is amazing!

ARE YOU SERIOUS?!

http://techdirt.com/articles/20081006/1543572469.shtml

Are businesses really trying to do this? Because if they truly want to do that, they are going to have a lot of really pissed off people around! The Internet is a great way to communicate with each other, and learn new things, and provide feedback... If they want it to fit into a tv based kind of platform we will be back to a one way form of communication, in another spectrum, and do we really need another one way communication network? I am pretty sure tv has got that covered, and music for that matter... don't try to take away something that people rely on so much for daily function and communication with multiple people and companies, it wasn't designed for that, perhaps these politicians need a brush up course on what it was created for so they don't pull stupid moves like pushing it toward the standards set for television, because it won't go over well with the public!

New Light bulb? I think not!

http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/11/ge-builds-an-oled-printer-hopes-to-challenge-light-bulbs-in-201/

Who thinks of this crap? Look, no one who has any conscious mind of how to decorate will put these up in place of blinds, curtains, wallpaper, borders, or anything else. They will look cheap put anywhere if they keep the look they have right now. Even if it is effecient and could work out better than regular bulbs, it sounds to me that they are fairly expensive and that no one can effectively buy them and come out on top. What's wrong with the expensive energy efficient bulbs we use for 7 years at a time now? Do they really last 7 years? that's another subject. All I'm saying, innovation is a good thing, it keeps things rolling, it make life interesting. When it starts becoming a faux pas, I start having a problem with it. If I see this thing anywhere on HGTV in the next decade, I will personally visit those people and ask them what is wrong with them! All you have to do is watch HGTV a couple of times to figure out what is okay and what is no way! All I'm saying is that these things could be cool, but they are seriously ugly!

World of Warcraft

http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/10/steelseries-wow-mmo-gaming-mouse-makes-wasting-your-life-that-mu/

World of Warcraft, if you don't know what it is, you're lucky. It's a game that sucks people who don't have lives into its depths and never lets them return to their friends. It is the ultimate kind of evil. It distracts teens from their homework, keeps them from going to class, and now, they are making it just that much easier to be good at a life sucking game. Who needs a mouse that helps you play a game? Why would you spend close to $100 for something that makes you socially inept? Because it is the devil's tool to create zombies. I'm just kidding. I really do hate that game though. Its taken countless friends away from me and I can't spend time with them, or if I try, they only play the game. They ask me to join, create a character and all, but I've seen what it does to them, why would I join that? This is what it creates, drama, computer centered teenagers, and fat lazy middle aged men that can't get away from the computer. There was an excellent example in the new South Park.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlAhxoRRxfI

So, after seeing this, you know not to let your friends or children join this game, it's almost like a cult!

Apple Computers

http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2008/10/apple-to-host-s.html

Since I started this class I realized that I would need an Apple, I wasn't required to buy one at the time I joined the program, but I found out quickly that it would make my homework easier, and that I would more than likely need one later for my career. So I started looking. But the way the economy is right now is seriously effecting my budget and I don't have any extra money to throw $2000 at a new computer and software, and unfortunately, neither do my parents. So I'm in a bind. I'm hoping that once the elections are finished that we will see a bounce back and that $11,000 I lost over the last few weeks in the stock market will come back a bit. But I don't feel I could wait until November or later for that to happen. Not for this class at least. My dad says we may be able to defer payments for six or twelve months if the guy he buys computers from can work with him, then I wouldn't have a problem, or if my dad gets a funeral, or if he gets a settlement from a funeral home he own 25% of that is closing in Sioux Falls. There are so many factors to my getting a computer it stresses me out. Now, if Apple comes out with a computer that is under $1000, my problems wouldn't be solved, but that's much more manageable. Although, they aren't sure that's what it is, or what kind of computer it will be. If it's just a computer for surfing the Internet, that's no help to me. I think I'll hold out for the economy to come back a bit so that I can get a professional grade computer for around $1700, and buy the software at the bookstore. At least one good thing came of this... I know exactly how much I've lost in stocks, and really how poor I truly am. That isn't good, that's depressing.

I hope this doesn't take as long for you to load

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Jd9dfn0Fgc

This video has always amazed me! It's not that it's spectacularly made, or that it has really cool effects, it's more about how the video of the girl pertains to the world around her like she completely controls it and shows all the bad things that can happen around her, but she has not power over, no matter how slow or fast she moves, she can't stop the books from falling from the lady's arms, or the car from hitting the man not paying attention as he crosses the street, and while she had her bit of fun being the fast forward, rewind and repeat button, her actions can't affect anyone but herself, and she may hate that she couldn't help some, she can't hate herself, the lyrics are incredible, and the story told in the video is moving. But then again, they are a great band, and most of their sound is moving, upbeat, and could even be thought of in a religous sense. They are diverse, and unfortunately there is no music video for mood rings, my favorite song they sing, but just so you know, any band that can fit the word infastructure into a song and make it sound good; has serious talent!

here's a way to listen to "Mood Rings" by Relient K, from the Two Lefts Don't Make a Right, But Three Do album

Blogging about a blog

http://www.ksfy.com/blogs/allen/30515379.html?blog=y

He went to Italy... the country I love above all others. The country I want to return to in the worst way. The country with wines to die for! And all he can say about it is it was "life changing"?! That's almost blasphemy in my book! I was very upset. Hopefully tomorrow he talks a little bit about the debates that happened tonight, and I can't wait to read up on what happened and what was said since I had to miss it for work. But "life changing", that's all he can say about the most beautiful country in the world? A place with more history than you could ever hope to see and learn in a week? A place where the people don't actually mind America that much (nothing like France! yikes! They hated us when we were there and we were high schoolers!). Italy... Rome... Pompeii... Pisa... Florence... Venice... and all the little towns you never hear of but absolutely have to drive through. Who ever thought they'd see a sleeping king in the hills, or vineyards for miles? The country is perfect, and yes, life changing.

Homestar Runner

http://www.homestarrunner.com/tgs14.html

Why are videos like this so funny to our generation? I roll my eyes at every new video I watch on this site, but I still go back to watch the newest one when it comes out. I also rewatch many of them. In general I think it has to do with bordom, but is that a good excuse? Why do we need to be entertained by some form of media all the time? Why doesn't conversation or just plain reading create enough enjoyment for us that we search the web until we find crap like this? Who knows, but one thing is for certain, I'm glad professors can't just up and change a test whenever they want because it's written in their syllabus!

Sarah Palin

http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1831461

I feel it's a cute way to try to make fun of a person who supposedly has no experience, but I was wondering, if people are so worried that the potential vice president of the country may be inexperienced, but can learn as she is in office helping the president, has anyone taken the time to realize that Obama has even less experience? He hasn't even finished one term in the senate and wants to become the president. Doesn't that seem to be a bigger problem than if the VP doesn't have the experience? I thought experience was something required to become president, but I also thought that they should be literate and learned as well. I guess we just can't have everything. But this was a cute narrative of the possibilities once McCain is in the White House... people are predicting the future awful early aren't they?

Monday, September 29, 2008

This is starting to be a lot of fun. It also, due to time factors, has convinced me I need to buy an Apple laptop besides the laptop I have through HP. I enjoyed putting in the B-roll and the text clips, it was fun moving the audio from the video and still showing Ryan in and out of the other clips for audio and video I imported. I feel much better about our first assignment as well as I remember how to do more and more functions without having to look them up. The only part that bothered me was that there we blank parts in the audio, and I feel that audio is the biggest part in production for videos. So, hopefully, we'll learn how to put in other forms of audio as well as the audio from the video because I don't want silence. I'm really excited!

Texting

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/29/technology/29drill.html?_r=1&ref=technology&oref=slogin

This happens to be another prime example why people from the M-Generation cannot hold a verbal conversation. They are so used to texting what they want to say they'd rather not call someone to communicate when they can short hand it with T9 Word. It wasn't bad enough that everyone and their grandmother had a cell phone a few years ago, but now kids will text their elders instead of doing the courtesy call to check in.

Brian Allen Blog

http://www.ksfy.com/blogs/allen/29625609.html?blog=y

I love to read KSFY blogs by Brian Allen. He has interesting topics, great guest bloggers, he changes his material up, and uses a lot of Thomas Jefferson quotes. I appreciate his efforts and finds what he says to have merit. Not all of his blogs are very serious or affect people's live though. These are the blogs I find myself looking for more often than others. Who interviews his 4-year-old about his life? What could this little boy possibly have to say? Did Brian have nothing to blog about, and if not, why not just skip blogging that day? We love reading about kids, that's why. This little boy isn't any different than other children his age, but he is a really cute kid. It's an personal interest piece that reaches people on a more personal level. How different it has become to reach people through your children though.

I also really liked this guest blogger

http://www.ksfy.com/blogs/allen/27043699.html

It's really long winded, and I didn't read all of it the first time through, but somewhere in the middle of it, he starts giving little pictures to the big world... they are funny, but true. Another part of his blog I suggest people check out. The other blogs on KSFY aren't as good as Brian's, so I stick to his more often.

Dual Monitors

http://www.usatoday.com/tech/columnist/kimkomando/2008-09-25-two-monitors_N.htm

I was really excited when I read how easy this was. Recently I started a new shift at my job that will require the use of two monitors to keep up with job junctions since they are increasing our workload ten fold and decreasing our call volumes by hundreds. I worried that I wouldn't be able to go back to a single monitor and have started thinking about getting a dual monitor for my personal set up so I can do multiple things at once and not feel like I have an overwhelming amount of bars open on my screen. I'm happy to have such easy instructions, even if the changes do come at a fairly high price.

Future Bumper Stickers?

http://www.wired.com/culture/culturereviews/multimedia/2008/09/found

Wired magazine. Usually full of interesting ideas, usually very unusual actually. A good source for all things tech savvy and nerdy though. So imagine my surprise when they decided to take their time to create bumper stickers from the future! First of all, who cares? Second of all, do that many people actually use bumper stickers that they would have an interest? And finally, do those people who use bumper stickers as a form of communication subscribe to this magazine or check out their website? Probably not. Upsetting even further, next week's future idea, what will the McDonald's happy meal look like in 10, 20 or even 100 years. Again, who cares? We only eat that crap because it's convenient and on every street corner of America... and they soak it in grease. Useless for two weeks in a row.

Fine What is Built to Help You

http://keloland.com/NewsDetail6162.cfm?ID=0,74210

I was very confused when I read this. We find this technology to bring electricity through something that happens very naturally and relentlessly, the wind. So a company builds a large number of wind turbines in a place that is naturally windy due to flatness from a glacier and they didn’t get the right kind of okay. So now we want to fine them for supplying electricity to 60,000 homes because of this technicality. I think it’s wrong and disappointing. Why can’t they make them pay taxes or some other form of money but at least let then continue to benefit society in a new technology that is clean and doesn’t require any kind of production, it is the wind after all, why can’t they keep it? I think $200,000 may be enough to seriously injure a company and put it on it's back since its so new. Ridiculous!

Flip Cam Video!

Robbie wants a job. Any job. Using the flip camera can be fun and useful, but the conversions are not much fun!

Video with background

Today we learned how to edit out a green screen to put a picture behind the object of our video. I found it very interesting to play with the green removal options and the softening effects when the green taken away causes jagged lines and edges. I didn't think this would be useful knowledge, but as I do more research for my area of study (advertising) I realize that I will need all the skills I am learning to be a diverse and useful employee to any firm I may join.

This is what coffee and no sleep gets you!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMriTkE3igY&feature=related

This was the best thing I’ve ever watched! He’s so confident that he’ll be fine because he hasn’t slept in two days and is running on only coffee. How do you get the first question wrong on millionaire? Better yet, how do you get that question wrong? We’ve been taught to do that for our computers since we could understand what it meant, we live in that era. We are the M-Generation. Surge protectors don’t have anything to do with water; if they did there would be a world of hurt going on due to that electrical current he couldn’t figure out. After watching that clip and a few others, I found this one, it only gets better
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNNjAJZk9i0&feature=related

Now you know, elephants are larger than the moon. All videos of her saying that are too blurry or hard to hear, but she takes almost five minutes to decide elephants are bigger than the moon.

But the next clip should restore some faith in the American population after the last two links nearly crush everything you held to be true about this being a wealthy country, including intellectually.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8JrsnpWUSw&feature=related

No life lines were truly used, and he only one to call the important person in his life to let him know he had won, and to feel proud of his son. All it takes is 15 questions and a lack of stupidity to become a millionaire. But I think I’ll stick the 401K plan I have set up with my job. At least I’m guaranteed that return.

The New Facebook

http://www.new.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home

Why do the designers of sites for communication and reconnections always have to go in and change what has already been working so well for the people that uses their sites? Redesigning the face of facebook has created uproar in facebook participants worldwide. They took something that was uniform and user friendly and made it into myspace! The abstract version in place now makes me almost want to discontinue my use of their site due to having to fidget with different buttons and settings to find the old applications I liked so well on my old page.
So back to my question, why do they have to change something that is working? Did we ask for them to change it? Does it help bring more users on? And if it does, who’s paying to use the site so they need more users anyway? Was this change due to the encouragement from companies that do help fund the upkeep of the site? Or do they really just have nothing better to do than to play with new ideas and see how many of their users they can upset.
Evidently it was to help advertise for their providers better, however, I don’t feel its right. Couldn’t they put it to a vote? A lot of users are Americans and we like voting on things, and when the vote can take place online, it has been proven that we respond better and more people vote for things online than we do for presidential elections. I just want the old facebook back.

First Video

Video making has definitely changed since high school. We were not expected to know how to use the cameras or other videos systems, we just took previously recorded video, watched until the parts we wanted, uploaded it to the computer, stacked it together with some still photos we had and put music to it. Done. It never took long, but it was a lot of fun. Here, it feels weird being on camera, kind of weird, I got really self conscious, but getting the video was much easier, I liked it a lot better than having to watch all the tapes over and over until you get the right part. The audio is a lot easier, and editing was much quicker. I like editing video and playing with different options to create something out of nothing. It's a silly sentence that makes no sense and has no place in my life, but it was fun seeing a different face and voice pop up for every word i chose to use. I think this class over all will be a lot of fun whether I work in a group or on a video by myself. I like being able to be creative inside fairly permeable parameters.

Return to online orders

Tell me this isn't anti-productive. My flip camera started in Hodgkins, IL on September 12. It was then shipped to Indianapolis, IN on September 13. When it left there it arrived in Louisville, KY also today, September 13. It arrived in Louisville at 7:30 this morning and still hasn't left. Where is this camera going? Last time I checked Illinois is much closer than Kentucky. Now the frustration of being able to check where your order is sets in. Looks like my hopes of having my camera by Monday or Tuesday are gone. Maybe by Friday next week I'll have that expensive little camera that's taking a wayward trip right now.

Online Orders

Unfortunately for you to see what prompted this rant you would need my password, which I'm not willing to give since I have a lot of personal information on my amazon profile. You'll have to do with personal experience with amazon, or you can imagine it I'm sure.

I ordered the flip camera on amazon.com thinking that, ordering it a week in advance with regular shipping, I would have it before class met again. As I go through and check my order multiple times a day, however, I am finding each day for the last three days that my camera still has not shipped. It seems I will have to pay the extra $10.98 for two day shipping to have any chance of receiving the camera next week, and it still isn’t expected to be received until September 16. Since today is September 11, I wasn’t aware that two business days came about on the 16th.
But all of this got me thinking about how tracking packages has evolved. I do almost all of my shopping online anymore since our only outlets are JC Penny and WalMart, which don’t exactly provide choices. When I want something really fast I still won’t pay for the extra shipping because let’s face it; I’m poor. However, I track my packages religiously. How did they stand it when mail became mobile in the first place? No tracking, actually no real knowledge that anything was actually on it’s way. Who puts that information into the systems so that we can track what city our package is in? Evidently they just scan the number and bar code assigned to each package when it comes in and when it goes out so that when we put in the code they gave us with our order, or in the e-mail they send after the order is complete, it shows when it showed up and when it left again. The system is pretty amazing overall, and still completely slow and unreliable in the United States Postal System, or even starting with the original supplier; as in this case.
Speaking of slow mail, how’s this for inefficient?

Blogging... The new homework?

http://keloland.com/NewsDetail6162.cfm?Id=0,73661

When we were assigned a blog for 25% of our grade I was skeptical about how it could be considered a 'graded assignment'. It almost seemed too easy to be considered a college course.
It obviously isn't just an insane idea to make our lives easier since all college students need a computer today to even consider getting through a college degree. Evidently high schools are picking up the idea. A little guarded and fully edited. Not a true blog by any means, however accepted as an assignment. Is this the next form of homework? Are writing papers a thing of the past? How will this affect the ‘alliteracy’ of the M-generation? Yes, alliteracy, it is defined as having the ability to read, but choosing not to, a linguists nightmare. I believe it will affect it greatly.

Our generation already has no clue how to speak or write due to an increase in the technologies we’re provided. More English papers are written in texting and IMing formats. They don’t know how to write complete sentences, they don’t understand the meanings of words in the texts they are expected to read, they live on Wikipedia. According to Dr. John Taylor Wikipedia is the fast and dirty way to get anything wrong. So back to my original question, is blogging to next form of doing homework? I really hope not.

Numbers for reading and writing are on a steady decline and they are only expected to get worse as we move further into the digital age. When we text or IM we can think over our response and re-type it multiple times until it is how we want it to sound, this is an issue for spoken conversations. Some don’t care what they say, how they spell it, what the words really mean. They type anything and hope that with enough bells and whistles the teacher accepts what they’ve written. Is that the path we should continue to encourage?

I’m not saying blogging is a bad idea for students to put their ideas into writing, but standards need to be set and kept if this will work. Nor should other forms of homework diminish. Grammar and spelling should stay staples and be stressed more than they currently are in public high schools, papers should still be written and graded and many texts should be assigned to be read for a broader appreciation for what technological advancements have brought us. Where would we be without that original printing press? Would anyone have the ability to read besides the ordained and scribes without it?

We are a now society, we take for granted the things that make our lives easiest and forget the important parts of our cultures and histories that have brought us to today. We live in the media generation, but we should be enjoying every kind of media, especially the text found in good old fashioned books. Like the old saying goes, “If want to end a society or culture, burn their libraries,” too bad Americans have less and less respect for those accommodations that our ancestors worked so hard to create.
